What is a Hydrafacial?
Updated: Sep 18, 2019
HydraFacial is a treatment that has been receiving a lot of buzz lately, but some of us may not know why? In 2014, it was touted as an improved and revamped form of microdermabrasion, especially since it was created by the originators of the first microderm machine. However, while microdermabrasion treatments are great for exfoliation it doesn't target multiple concerns, give the skin a deep cleanse or include the added benefits of hydration and peptide serums.
What makes a Hydrafacial so revolutionary is the fact that even a basic 30-minute treatment is designed to treat multiple concerns while delivering a gorgeous glow. This treatment is suitable for variety of skin types including sensitive skin. In addition to pushing multiple serums, peptides, antioxidants, and hydration into the deeper layers of the skin using their patented vortex infusion, we can mix and match treatments to obtain maximum results. In fact, HydraFacial has the option to combine Lymphatic drainage and LED into treatment options as well.
At this point, some of us might be scratching our heads and asking why we would use the lights we use in our houses, or on our cars for our face…. well, it’s not quite the same. LED benefits for skin care were first discovered by NASA. In its initial stages, it was used to help with vitamin D deficiency while they were in space. What NASA discovered upon reviewing before and after pictures was that the astronauts appeared younger upon their return.
It was later discovered that LED in different light frequencies had different benefits. Blue LED, which only penetrates to the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ) is known to help kill bacteria that causes acne. This, in turn, makes it the best option for those wanting to target acne issues. Red LED is one of the deepest penetrating frequencies and goes down to the dermal layer where all the magic happens. This frequency is beneficial for targeting cellular repair, collagen and elastin synthesis, and reduction of inflammation making this perfect for anyone and everyone.
The key to maintaining the great results we get with HydraFacial, or any treatment is consistency. Consistency and the right daily skin care products ensure the longevity of results. Because the serums, antioxidants, and peptides penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin they begin to help balancing, healing and revitalizing from the inside out.
However, if you are not sure how HydraFacial would benefit you just give us a call to schedule a consultation to see what your personalized skin care program would look like.
